Comments:  Tower is not in too bad of shape, probably due to remote location. This tower has not been staffed in some time, but site appears to be maintained by TN Department of Forestry. Tower is 100' standard aermotor tower. The wood stairs and landings are very weathered, with several of the boards on the upper landings rotted and broken. The door to the tower cab was open, so I decided to go inside. First, I had to wait for the tower occupant, a large Grey Owl to vacate. Obviously from the amount of excrement on the tower floor, he had been occupying the tower for some time. There were two window panes broken out, but otherwise the cab was fairly secure. Nearby is a Forestry building of similar size as other sites (approximately 10' x 12'). This building was locked. A sign on top of the building stated Lutts Firetower, District 6.
