Bunker Hill Lookout is a one-of-a-kind structure built by Joe Bauman who
was a long time Forest Service employee in 1942. Further information

The original station on the Eldorado
National Forest was a 14’x14’ live-in R-5 cab. Later it was one of
three sites selected to receive this special stone tower (the other two are
on the Lassen and the Los Padres National Forests).
The two photos of Bunker Hill below were taken by Linton A. Brown, Sr.
on July 28, 1957. The lookouts at the time were Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal:
