One of the last sites developed on the Umatilla National Forest, High
Ridge lookout was built in 1941 as an L-4 cab on a 24’ pole tower. In 1959
it was replaced with the present R-6 flattop cab with catwalk on a 67’
treated timber tower. Placed on standby status for awhile, it is now in
active service.
