It is hard to find a more beautiful lookout location than Baker Point on the Sequoia National Forest in California's southern Sierras. Reached only by a difficult trail (two mules were killed during construction in 1950), Baker Point Lookout offers spectacular views. Currently used only in emergencies and still a key radio repeater site, the 14' x 14' L-6 cab with catwalk is on a 20' wooden tower. There is also an adjacent ground house.
