Flagstaff Lookout in northeastern Washington is one of the last active DNR lookouts in the state. The site was first used by the U.S. Forest Service in 1935 (Colville National Forest) and transferred to the Washington Department of Natural Resources in the late 1940s. The present 40' wooden tower with DNR flattop 14' x 14' cab with catwalk was constructed in 1971.
