Located in the southwestern corner of the Adirondack Park, Kane Mountain Fire
Tower was the second-to-last tower erected in the Adirondacks and the only
one built in Fulton County. Although established in 1925 the facility did
not begin operating until 1926. The 60’ Aermotor LS-40 tower with 7x7’ steel
cab was staffed until 1988. The New York Chapter of the Forest Fire Lookout
Association has expressed an interest in helping maintain the tower and the
groundhouse.
