Green Mountain Lookout, in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, has not
been actively used for fire detection in many years, but one would not know
it. The structure, a classic L-4, 14- by 14-ft ground house once common in the
Pacific Northwest, has been lovingly restored by the Friends of Green
Mountain. The organization is one of the original volunteer groups to come
forward and help maintain a lookout.
